Utility Service Agency in Action at GRESCO Fall Fest 2024
It was our great pleasure to have attended the 18th annual GRESCO Fall Fest in Florida this past week. We were proud to have brought 8 of our manufacturers with us to demonstrate their products and services in a face-to-face setting. Take a look at some of our photos from the event, and reach out if you’re curious about any of the manufacturers they feature!
Utility Service Agency welcomes new team members
Here at Utility Service Agency, we continue to grow and hire new staff. Please extend a warm welcome to our newest members, all of whom have joined us within the past quarter:
Nick Weaver – Marketing Manager
Nick stepped aboard as our full-time marketing manager in August of this year and has been producing a wide range of content for us ever since. His background in multimedia design, content management, and marketing will serve us well as we continue to grow.
Tunisia Patel – Product Line Manager
Tunisia’s 27 years of executive administration and operations experience have allowed her to hit the ground running as our newest Product Line Manager. She will be taking over Wilson Iron Works, Huskie Tools, and Priority Wire & Cable as her first lines.
Jasmine Norris – Executive Assistant
With a history of streamlining operations and providing critical support to top-level executives, it’s no wonder we decided to welcome Jasmine aboard as our new Executive Assistant! Jasmine will be working directly alongside our president Jim Cooke, driving efficiency and ensuring smooth business operations at the top level of our organization.
Our staff have quickly enveloped these new recruits into our work family and look forward to seeing what they’ll accomplish. USA is thankful to be growing, and even more thankful to have found such wonderful new workers and leaders to join us!
Hurricane Helene & High Speed Tower Repair
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, utility manufacturers have been under immense pressure to provide parts and resources for repair efforts all across the east coast. Check out this account of one such manufacturer, Wilson Iron Works, and their effort (alongside some folks here at USA) to deliver critical steel parts for transmission tower repair in Western NC in just under 48 hours total!
Meyer Poles Produce Progress in South Carolina
Power poles in progress!
Take a look at these photos of the local utilities crew of South Carolina replacing damaged power poles—
These poles were downed during the torrential storms of Hurricane Helene last week, and both the linemen and manufacturer Meyer Utility Structures have been hard at work swapping them out for fresh ones. Through their combined efforts, the affected communities' infrastructures in South Carolina are one step closer to being rebuilt!

Asheville Strong: USA helping to feed Duke Energy crews
Western NC was hit hard by Hurricane Helene, especially so in Asheville. Scores of linemen and crew from Duke Energy are currently helping to rebuild key infrastructure in the areas most effected.
To help support their efforts, today some of our folks from USA are out in Asheville to serve lunch and dinner to those very workers (and any first responders who happen to be in the area!)
Utility Service Agency is proud to support these hard-working crew as they serve our beloved home state of NC!

Tribute for Conrad Stuntz
The Utility Service Agency family is heartbroken to share the unexpected passing of
our dear colleague and friend, Conrad Stuntz. Conrad, 65, suffered a brief illness and
succumbed to cardiac arrest on the afternoon of May 6th.
Conrad faithfully served Utility Service Agency since 2004. During his twenty years
with the USA, Conrad was the lead Product Line Manager for countless manufacturers. Most
recently he provided his dedicated service to BMK, Current, Howard, Power Line Hardware,
and Sherman & Reilly. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Conrad also coordinated our
marketing, fleet, and facilities management over the years.
Conrad graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in
communications. After college, he worked as a journalist and later found his niche in
marketing. Conrad spent seventeen years in marketing for Clemson University, followed by
three years at start-up educational companies. Conrad pivoted to the utility industry when he
encountered the Utility Service Agency through his wife, Joanie, a former USA employee
herself. For the remainder of his career, Conrad was devoted to his work at the USA.
Conrad is survived by his beloved wife, Joanie, and their four children Edward,
Shannon, Stephen, and Philip. He was always proud to share news of his children and
cherished his time cheering them on from the sidelines. Conrad, who found great purpose and
joy in his relationship with God, was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church.
Just last year Conrad and Joanie bought land and were building their forever home.
They were enjoying the challenge of creating a self-sustaining homestead for their family.
Conrad was also a sports fanatic. He loved following and talking about all sports, especially his
Clemson Tigers.
Conrad was known for his faithfulness, humility, and compassion. Always the first to
offer a kind word and the last to seek attention, Conrad genuinely cared about people. He was
a true friend to everyone at the USA, and we are all the better for having known him. He will
be greatly missed.
